This group of natural stone distinguishes itself by a couple of factors:

  • A natural cleft, rough surface with slate and quartzite.
  • A higher water absorption and lower resistance to abrasion with Sandstone, Cantera and Indiana Limestone.

Both the natural cleft surface and higher absorption make these materials especially prone to staining, dirt retention, and wear.

Kitchens
Stone transforms a kitchen into an exceptionally attractive and durable living space. Your favorite ingredients and most trusted tools can seriously affect the stone and grout joints. A quality stone care system minimizes stains from cooking oil, grease, vegetables, coffee and tea, etch-marks from wine, vinegar, cola and citric acids, and scratches from sharp objects.

Bathrooms/Spas
Luxurious baths and spas relax and rejuvenate you, and spacious, elegant counter areas
help start the day with ease. A stone care system that cleans and protects against hard water, cosmetics, soap scum deposit, and mildew will keep your surfaces looking their best.

Foyers/Living Areas
Natural stone compliments the areas where you entertain most and display fine furniture and art. A comprehensive stone care system protects against food spills, dulling, scratches and other surface blemishes caused by daily wear from shoes and the tracking in of abrasive particles.

Outdoors
Exterior stone makes a positive first impression. Incorporating a stone care system to maintain its quality and protect it against the elements is very important since water and moisture contribute significantly to decay, efflorescence, mildew, and algae and wet/dry and freeze/thaw cycles cause the stone to loosen/blister, and grout to crack
.

Always test recommended procedures on a sample or inconspicuous area to determine suitability and satisfaction with final appearance of surface.

Important: Pre-treating these natural stones with HMK® S45 or S31 is advisable due to their higher absorption and/or cleft surfaces.
