HMK® P27
RE-POLISHING POWDER
Marble
, Travertine , Limestone, Terrazzo
All Other Calcareous Stone
For
Professional Use Only
APPLICATION:
HMK® 27 Re-Polishing Powder restores the natural shine of all dull calcareous
stone without coating the surface. Deep scratches and acid etch marks may be
restored by first sanding the natural stone surface, then using P27. This task
is best left to the professional. Unlike new re-polishing methods, such as
crystallization and vitrification, P27 has been factory and field proven for
decades and is therefore known as the only "non-hazardous" Re-Polishing method.
Furthermore, these other methods frequently contain ingredients that cause
efflorescence, discoloration, and permanent burn marks.
Note: P27
is not effective on granite, resin based agglomerate, or any
other material devoid of calcium carbonate. Darker natural
stone usually does not polish up well or as easily as lighter
colored stones.
DIRECTIONS:
Proceed with Care! First clean or strip area to be restored with HMK® R55
Intensive Cleaner or HMK® R80 Stripper/Satin Remover, depending on situation.
Protect all adjacent masonry and non-masonry surfaces, since P27 contains acid.
Mix R55 with clean water, about 1 part R55 to 10 parts water, and wet surface
to be refinished. Allow to soak in for a few minutes. Sprinkle a little of
P27 onto surface, enough to give a creamy/milky consistency when buffing. Do
not allow solution to sit or dry on surface. Instead, start immediately with
the buffing action. Add more water or powder as needed. More control can be
achieved by pre-mixing P27 with water and R55 solution in a container. Use
a hand-held radial buffer at 600-800 rpm for small areas or a regular floor
machine at 175 rpm with a tampico brush or a white/tan polyester pad. Move
machine slowly and evenly, doing small, manageable areas at a time. Buffing
action may take 1/2 to 2 minutes to create shine. Check refinishing progress
approximately every 15 to 30 seconds to prevent permanent burn marks.
Note: When interrupting
buffing action, to check results, immediately pick up P27 solution
to avoid acid burn marks. Place floor machine on a plastic
sheet to avoid same. Repeat buffing and rinsing action as needed.
COVERAGE:
Approximately 200-400 sqft., 18-36 square meters per 750 gr. (26.5 oz) container.
DANGER:
Toxic Solids, Organic, n.o.s. Poisonous. Protect skin and eyes. Use protective
gear. If exposed, wash or flush with water. Keep out of reach of children.
See Material Safety Data Sheet.
PACKAGING:
750 gr. cans (26.5 oz.) 12 per case, 4.5 kg. cans (10 lb.) 4 per case, 10 kg.
cans (22 lb.) 2 per case.
STORAGE:
Store in cool place. Keep lid tightly closed.
TESTING:
Testing in an inconspicuous area is in every case imperative! The re-polishing
success depends on the calcium content in the stone and the proper combination
of the following: Dilution of P27, weight, rpm of the floor machine, and
duration of buffing action. Trial and error will provide proper buffing
time.
