S42
Enhancing Impregnator
Reduces penetration of water and dirt on polished,
honed and textured finishes.
Enhances color.
Solvent based. For interior and exterior use.
HMK® S42 is a ready
to use solvent based impregnator for use on all natural stone
surfaces (soft and hard), agglomerates, reconstituted stone and
terrazzo, and can be used on polished, honed and textured
surfaces. By reducing water and dirt penetration, regular
maintenance is facilitated. Algae, fungus and other problems
occurring with exterior installations are reduced. Color
enhancement will bring out the grain and structure of the stone.
HMK® S42 is especially suited for wall and floor surfaces. Vapor
permeation is only slightly diminished. Please note that HMK®
S42 is not effective against oil and grease. For exterior and
interior use.
Important:
Clean surface thoroughly before treatment using HMK®
R55 Intensive Cleaner (diluted) followed by a flood rinse with
water and allow at least 24 hours to dry (max residual moisture
of 2-4%) before sealing. If under floor heating exists, switch
it off and allow the surface to cool to room temperature.
Instructions:
Apply HMK® S42 generously and evenly to a chemically
clean and dry surface with a natural bristle paint brush or the
HMK® Z170-171 brushes. One saturating, wet-on-wet
application is usually sufficient depending on porosity of the
stone. Thoroughly remove excess before drying on the surface.
For more absorbent surfaces additional applications may be
required. Subsequent applications may be done within fifteen
minutes of the initial application, but it is best to wait 24
hours between applications to best determine saturation level.
Smears or imperfections left after the applica
tion process can be removed using a soft clean cloth moistened
with HMK® S42 and buffing.
Do not walk on the treated
surface until 4 to 6 hours after treatment is completed.
Resistance to dirt and water is developed over 24 hours. Protect
surface from rain and humidity for 12 hours. Do not apply to
rubber, plastics, lacquered or varnished surfaces and solvent
intolerant materials. Remove all foodstuffs from the area to be
treated before work is commenced.
Once dry the residual material is not harmful
to health.
For regular cleaning and continued protection use HMK®
P24 Liquid Stone Soap.
Coverage:
About 50 to 220 square feet per liter depending on the nature of
the surface.
Warning: Chemical product. Contains turpentine substitute.
Flammable. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Harmful or
fatal if swallowed or inhaled. Ensure the area to be treated is
adequately ventilated. Avoid eye/skin contact. If exposed
wash/flush with water and seek medical attention immediately.

Do not
use the product in temperatures below 50 and above 80°F.

Storage:
Store in a cool place and keep lid tightly closed.
Testing:
Always test the product in an inconspicuous area to evaluate
suitability, coverage and performance.
